A Misuser’s Guide to Adderall

The history of amphetamines shows that the use of Adderall to study or to get high at college campuses has exploded. While drugs like Adderall, Ritalin, and Concerta are prescribed primarily to treat ADHD/ADD, multiple surveys reveal rampant use—as great as 35 percent of students on some campuses—of students who admit to the illegal use of a prescription stimulant.

Powerful proponent of psychiatric drugs for children primed for a fall

(First appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle on March 27th, 2009) Dr. Joseph Biederman, chief of the Massachusetts General Pediatric Psychopharmacology Clinic, is already under investigation by Harvard University and the National Institutes of Health for failing to report income received from drug companies. Now, in newly released court documents, Biederman appears to be promising drugmaker Johnson & Johnson in advance that his studies on the antipsychotic drug risperidone will prove the drug to be effective when used on preschool age children.

The Supreme Court Judgment Against Wyeth Is HUGE!
|
The Supreme Court last week gave one to the people at the expense of corporate power. In a 6-3 decision, the Court upheld a Vermont Supreme Court verdict awarding a large judgment to a woman who lost an arm against the Wyeth pharmaceutical company.
