There may be many reasons why this is so- but it is worth asking this question:
Diller has a much less bleak view of ADHD than Barkely.
Is it possible that in instilling more hope into his patients offering more personalised care and encouraging a greater sense of personal agency that Diller actually generates better outcomes?
My experience is that we are unusually sensitive people with marked emotional impulsivity, and flourish best in an environment of close personal interaction, especially when we are supported by someone who understands how easily we can slip into the "slough of despondency".
Please do not view this as an attack on Barkely- he has done plenty of things of great benefit to us ADDers. The aim here is to open to curiosity- not get locked into a fight to the death over who is technically right.
